Wrinkle Reduction
Facial wrinkles can be divided into dynamic and static types. Dynamic wrinkles are seen only during times of facial expression and are caused by the facial muscles pulling on the skin. If the muscles tug on the skin daily for years, dynamic wrinkles become static and are seen when the face is at rest. Environmental factors such as sun damage, smoking and skin type can also influence wrinkle development.
Board-certified ophthalmologist, fellowship-trained oculoplastic surgeon Katherine J. Zamecki-Vedder, MD, FACS, is able to offer her patients a variety of non-surgical and surgical methods of wrinkle reduction. Botox®/ Xeomin®/Jeaveau are used to reduce dynamic wrinkles so that they do not become static wrinkles. Static wrinkles can be addressed with facial fillers like Restylane®/Juvederm®/Sculptra®. Very often, brow lift and upper/ lower eyelid blepharoplasty can be combined to create a customized treatment plan to reduce facial wrinkles. Call 203-791-2020 to schedule a consultation.
